John Anderle minored in Fine Arts at UC Berkeley with a concentration in graphic arts and sculpture, and he has maintained a love for the practice and appreciation of art throughout the years. A long-time student at Walnut Creek Civic Arts, his oils on canvas include landscapes, still life, and portraiture using bold brushstrokes, simplified shapes, vivid colors and textures to create a unique and personal interpretation of his subjects.
John has painted landscape scenes and portraits of interesting people encountered during his many overseas journeys. He is also actively involved with the "Memory Project," a philanthropic outreach program providing portraits to displaced and orphaned youth throughout the world.
His painting "Borges Ranch Trail" was selected for "Life in the Creek," where it was enlarged and displayed on the construction barrier for the 1500 Mt. Diablo project in Walnut Creek.
